I’ve toyed around with this idea for some time now. Originally inspired by Leo, an ex-affiliate, and then again by Neosiz, I have decided to convert a few premade designs into WordPress themes (anime and abstract alike).

These themes would probably end up looking different from their premade versions. Since WordPress themes are tricky to customize, I’d love to hear feedback and/or suggestions to improve if anyone happens to use them.

I’ve also added a new design, A Dream Within, which is also the newest WordPress theme. There are some new avatars as well… their IDs are all over the place but they’re there. Speaking of which, I’ve pruned around 50 of them last night along with two of the older brush sets, a design and the tutorial section. I’ve yet to go through more of the designs to see which ones to keep, but I’ll do that another time.

I finally got around to making some avatars – a section I haven’t touched for a while. I found a few Wall-E ones from before and made a couple more to add to them.

Also, there is a new brush set, Petals, made from scanned rose petals; these are the same ones I’ve used here: Woodwrapped.

Thank you for the feedback on the design-in-progress from the last update. It needs more tweaking before I add it to the site and seeing how lazy I’ve become lately, it could take a while…

I finally got around to working some more on the site. The default Gravatar icon is finally up, the Affiliation page has affiliate details and I’ve rewritten the About page: Site History has a different take and the Past Versions are back up. Little changes here and there.

I’m working on a design and what I have so far is what I’ve intended the structure to be. It’s not up for download yet because I would like feedback on it in case the majority agrees that it be changed: Untitled Layout. I have an idea for a change, but I’d like any suggestions or comments that you can offer.

I’m uncreative when it comes to titles, but it’s all true.

New Affiliate: I’d like to welcome Ellada of Ensomnia as AExA’s newest affiliate. Ellada, of course, needs no introduction; I’m more than pleased to have her as an affiliate.

Affiliation is now open. Those who are interested may go through the affiliation guidelines for a general idea before applying. Affiliates will be announced over the next few updates when they are decided upon.

Graphics: There is one design – Barbwire, and three brush sets available for download. The design is simple and straightforward; it was originally created for a friend and is now up for download.

All three brush sets – Passport Stamps, Textile Blocks and Fading Lines were created a while back, waiting to be added. I usually have a couple brush sets already made or halfway done so that it’s easier to update when I can’t otherwise. I hope that they’ll be useful.

I’ve finally got around to coding a layout that was long overdue. Masked is yet another simple layout that features Wie Liu’s gorgeous artwork.

On the other hand, I’m not completely satisfied with the final colors of Remembrance (the layout from the previous update). I’m temporarily taking it down from the site until I fix its color issues on different computers. There’s no way I’m going to be satisfied with how it looks on every computer.

Apart from that there are eight new avatars in the Stock category. I feel like I should have more to say, but I don’t know what.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost two months since the last update, it feels much less than that.

For today’s update I have for you, a premade layout. The design was originally made for a WordPress operated site but it didn’t workout very well. Since having recoded it, I’ve made it available as a premade design to download now.

There are a couple of new link exchanges as well, sorry it took so long to put up your links: Iridescent Thoughts, Shinju Graphics, and Anime Sanctum.

I’ve also removed a few dead links in that section, it was pretty sad to see those sites go offline… I think I’m missing a few sites there: if you once link exchanged with AExA but can’t find your link, then please contact me and I’ll have it back up again.

I usually make it a point to update before the 2 month mark of no updates. I owe an apology to those who have been visiting and a thank you to those that still do. It feels like a lot has happened since, and I’m sure there’s a lot more to catch up on.

For now, I have a few avatars that have been made over some time. They feature Wall E (from when I could not get over the cuteness of that movie) and little kittens.

There’s also a brush set made from what was left over of a finger painting spree and a new design that was mostly experimental. The design uses textures in a way that I’ve never used before and it’s for that reason I’ve delayed putting it up sooner. Feedback would be much appreciated.

I can’t guarantee steady updates for the upcoming months but I do intend to keep this site running (if anyone was wondering…)

Anyway, enjoy the additions and a happy early 2009 to all.

It’s not that I’ve been busy, I just didn’t have enough creative inspiration to produce something new, or to just be productive in general.

But I do have a few brush sets from a while ago – one of which will replace a very old flower brush set from before. I also took the time the other day to code one of Entula En’s past layouts.

Hopefully, if all goes well, I’ll design something new the next time.

I’ve been cleaning up around the site a few weeks ago. A while ago I removed the fonts page and now I’m removing the Desktop Wallpapers section. I don’t think I’ll ever be updating that part because for one: I really cannot work well with such large resolutions and, two: there are some really good wallpaper providing sites out there that are much better at it than me. That section has become pretty static anyway.

If I ever have the urge to make one, they’ll be submitted to Skyefairy.

As for now, I’ve added a new design and one more brush set. I really want to expand the brush section of the site; I’ve yet to grow tired of creating and testing them. As for the layout, I gave in and used Angel Sanctuary again. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t really mention this anymore, but new link exchanges have been added to the list over the past few months, so check them out when you can.

After some contemplation, I’ve finally decided to put a few AExA’s and Entula En’s old site designs for download. Luckily, I keep the original PSD so it won’t be hard to customize and fix up.

Over a week or so ago I added two brush sets (Splatter and Coffee Stains), but never got around to updating about them. Now I’ve added one more to that list. Hopefully you’ll find them useful. There’s more to come, I’m having way too much fun making them.

… Just thought I’d say that. Anyway, there’s a new premade for download, not the one I mentioned last update, but another. Thanks to Jess for previewing it for me in IE 6.

Excluding one, all the other layouts on the site have been redone. The more recent ones didn’t need much tweaking except an increase in line height or just cleaner coding, style sheets and extras. The older ones did though:

There’s another brush set as well, entitled Splots, for download. They were actually accidentally created when I was playing around with a future texture.

Is it just my unhealthy obsession with science, or do those peculiar brushes remind you of cells seen microscopically as well?

Four simple avatars were added too, one of which took a great deal of patience and time. Ask Leo, he knows.

For those of you who were browsing around the time this update was posted, I apologize for any inconvenience caused while I was fixing errors.

In keeping with the pruning, I’ve deleted one layout and took down another that I plan to change more drastically than what I’ve been doing.

Of the things I’ve done, layouts pruned:

1. Aphrodisiac, compare? Though I think I’ll be editing it more keeping Tammy’s suggestions in mind.

Another brush set added, this one was made and recycled from Temptress.

I’m back with an update much quicker than normal and it’s only because I can now more frequently. I’ve added a new design to start off with. The style and colors are something I’m not familiar with; the over all feel of it being “soft”. I wanted to increase the contrast on it, but it ruins the entire feel. I hope it’s not too low on contrast that it’d affect anyone’s viewing capability. Feedback would be appreciated.

Another brush set was added. It was made entirely for fun but perhaps you’ll find it useful for something.

Edit (Sept 8th) // Fixed the error Asha mentioned with the newest premade and re-uploaded with changes. My apologies for a problem I didn’t foresee and for inconveniencing those who choose to download it again.

Ever since the last update, I’ve taken a liking to making brushes. I dedicated a day or two and made a few, but because my FTP is uploading them at a ridiculously slow pace I could only add two sets for the time being.

I also added some new avatars, made a long time ago. They’re mostly stock/nature and a few of them are of asian actors that were made, like always, as a result of drama fandom.

More quotes have been added. Thank you Katie Pope, Edward Brown, Cordelia, Melanie and Kay Zhang for submitting.

I’m late in mentioning this, but AExA has a new affiliate: nonvideri Designs. Ariel has a lovely new layout up, too.

And lastly, plugs to the sites with gorgeous new layouts:  Empires X, Skyefairy, Synthoxide, Neosiz, DigiCreation and Vice.

And here I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it this month.

Apart from that, I wanted to thank all those who’ve given suggestions for Anime series and tutorials from the last update. I’ve read through all your comments and took note of the series. I’ve found some I’ve liked and will use in the future.

For those who asked about tutorials on databasing or PHP, I’m afraid I can’t do those. I’m neither skilled nor qualified in those areas to write them.

New quotes have been added to Dark & Death and Life categories. Thank you Allen Steble and Sanna for submitting. I’ve also added a new texture set made out of photos of old cracked and mossy walls and some new avatars – which is probably the only thing I find satisfying to design now-a-days (they’re smaller, less time consuming and not as disappointing).

I wanted to update with a design, but I guess that’ll have to wait until my muse finds me again.
