For now, I have a few avatars that have been made over some time. They feature Wall E (from when I could not get over the cuteness of that movie) and little kittens.

There’s also a brush set made from what was left over of a finger painting spree and a new design that was mostly experimental. The design uses textures in a way that I’ve never used before and it’s for that reason I’ve delayed putting it up sooner. Feedback would be much appreciated.

I can’t guarantee steady updates for the upcoming months but I do intend to keep this site running (if anyone was wondering…)

Anyway, enjoy the additions and a happy early 2009 to all.

But I do have a few brush sets from a while ago - one of which will replace a very old flower brush set from before. I also took the time the other day to code one of Entula En’s past layouts.

 
Hopefully, if all goes well, I’ll design something new the next time.

If I ever have the urge to make one, they’ll be submitted to Skyefairy.

As for now, I’ve added a new design and one more brush set. I really want to expand the brush section of the site; I’ve yet to grow tired of creating and testing them. As for the layout, I gave in and used Angel Sanctuary again. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t really mention this anymore, but new link exchanges have been added to the list over the past few months, so check them out when you can.

Over a week or so ago I added two brush sets (Splatter and Coffee Stains), but never got around to updating about them. Now I’ve added one more to that list. Hopefully you’ll find them useful. There’s more to come, I’m having way too much fun making them.

… Just thought I’d say that. Anyway, there’s a new premade for download, not the one I mentioned last update, but another. Thanks to Jess for previewing it for me in IE 6.

Excluding one, all the other layouts on the site have been redone. The more recent ones didn’t need much tweaking except an increase in line height or just cleaner coding, style sheets and extras. The older ones did though:

• Kaleidoscope, older version

There’s another brush set as well, entitled Splots, for download. They were actually accidentally created when I was playing around with a future texture.

Is it just my unhealthy obsession with science, or do those peculiar brushes remind you of cells seen microscopically as well?

Four simple avatars were added too, one of which took a great deal of patience and time. Ask Leo, he knows.

In keeping with the pruning, I’ve deleted one layout and took down another that I plan to change more drastically than what I’ve been doing.

Of the things I’ve done, layouts pruned:

1. Aphrodisiac, compare? Though I think I’ll be editing it more keeping Tammy’s suggestions in mind.

The old versions will be online temporarily. I’ll edit the list tomorrow or later tonight with more.

There was a new premade in the making but it needs more time to finish and I wanted to make this month. In the mean time I’ve added a premade, not new, but new to the site. It was recycled to make Ink Me.

Another brush set added, this one was made and recycled from Temptress.

Scrapbooking has some minor changes and a few more features.

My Way has a more appreciable difference; same design but again - with more features and breathing space. If anyone wants to compare (since I like to do the whole before-and-after thing), the older version is still up, albeit temporarily.

Those are the only two I’ve worked on so far, but I plan to do the same for other older designs, if the design allows it.

Apart from that, I’ve added two more brushes from when I was still in my brush-making phase. They’re some of my favorites since I completely enjoyed making them. Hopefully, they’ll be of use to you.

I also added some new avatars, made a long time ago. They’re mostly stock/nature and a few of them are of asian actors that were made, like always, as a result of drama fandom.

I’ve also added a PS tutorial that I wrote weeks ago. It explains some of the basics of using Hue/Saturation. If you choose to read it, I’d love to get your feedback on it.

Apart from that, I wanted to thank all those who’ve given suggestions for Anime series and tutorials from the last update. I’ve read through all your comments and took note of the series. I’ve found some I’ve liked and will use in the future.

For those who asked about tutorials on databasing or PHP, I’m afraid I can’t do those. I’m neither skilled nor qualified in those areas to write them.

New quotes have been added to Dark & Death and Life categories. Thank you Allen Steble and Sanna for submitting. I’ve also added a new texture set made out of photos of old cracked and mossy walls and some new avatars - which is probably the only thing I find satisfying to design now-a-days (they’re smaller, less time consuming and not as disappointing).

I wanted to update with a design, but I guess that’ll have to wait until my muse finds me again.

I’d also like to know if you’d like to see any particular anime/manga series portrayed in designs or graphics. I’m not much of an anime watcher but I like using Kojima Ayami artworks (thanks Mika, for pointing that out) and Angel Sanctuary illustrations and occasionally feel like I’m being repetitive in those series. Suggestions and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Other than that, I’ve added some more avatars (it’s that addiction again). And finally got around to adding the quotes that were sent in. Thank you Allen Steble, Wi, Kanidake, Vanessa, Cordelia and Karissa for submitting.

Another month, another update. This time I have with me a new layout. It’s on the dark side and truth be told, I was hesitant to add it because of the contrast of the dark background on the light colored layout… but I’ve been assured that it hasn’t caused harm. Yet. I’d love to your opinion on it.

On the other hand, AExA has three new affiliates! I wasn’t technically open but when I received their applications, I found myself with no reason to decline and with pretty good reasons to accept.

Needless to say, each site is unique in their own way and are definitely worth your clicks. Please welcome: Homicide, Seikastsu Designs Synthoxide and Starry Night!

You may have noticed that the “most recent design” feature on the layout has been changed to a random display of “featured designs”. That was all thanks to Skye, who - to my surprise -  took the time to look into it and was kind enough to put together a code to get it to work. Credit goes to her, thanks Skye!

I’ve also added a whole bunch of new avatars. I never realised how addicting it is to make them. I think I made at least one or two a day, at random. Most of them are nature/stock - which quickly became my favorite kind to make, a few celebrities and a few… well, you can view them all on the recently added page. Which reminds me - sometime earlier this month, I had organised the avatars and grouped them into four different categories, making it easier to browse.

Anyway this update has gone long enough, enjoy the new additions!

The fonts have been set to percentages. I wonder if that would help, or how effective that may be with the background image set as it is.
